WHAT A BRIEFING IS
A briefing is not an event and not an article - it sits between the two. An editor takes a stretch of recent coverage and walks through it claim by claim: what we checked, what the primary sources actually say, where a verdict moved and why. It is the reasoning layer of the publication, made visible.
Every briefing carries the same apparatus as our articles - sources listed, checkable claims marked - and anything that surfaces a mistake goes straight to the corrections log.
The first briefing is in preparation
It publishes here when it is ready. Readers of The Verifier - In Brief hear first.
